Isle of Wight Motorcycle Exhibition Race with Dead Good Racing

When Dead Good Race Team held an exhibition race at Island Speedway on the Isle of Wight, it was more than just another event, it was a proper shake-down for our UK tour race bikes.

Michael Hill (#47) and I rolled in ready to test, tune, and see what the island would throw at us.

Testing the UK Tour Bikes at Island Speedway

The race was nearly canceled due to heavy rain. Conditions were unpredictable and the track was changing by the hour. But we pushed through.

The surface shifted constantly. It was muddy at first then dry slick by midday into bumpy and dusty through sessions. Then perfectly tacky once the speedway crew dialed it in. It became the ultimate test environment.

Breaking in the Hawkeye Racing Royal 865

There couldn’t have been a better place to break in the Hawkeye Racing Royal 865. The island’s speedway demanded throttle control, line discipline, and patience. Every lap forced adaptation. That’s the beauty of exhibition racing, it’s raw, it’s real, and it strips riding back to fundamentals.

The Riders & The Island Energy

Every rider showed up. No ego, just respect and grit.

The track crew kept adjusting the surface as conditions evolved, and the clubhouse atmosphere made it unforgettable. There’s something different about island racing. tight community, committed racers, and no room for excuses.

Final Thoughts

It was a race weekend I’ll never forget, and I can’t wait to return. Whether you’re new to exhibition racing or looking to test your bike away from the big league circuits, events like this prove that real motorcycle culture lives where racers come together, no matter the surface or the forecast.
